    Hey everyone!

Today is 16 days since my upper and lower jaw surgery, my upper jaw was moved forward 4mm and my bottom jaw backwards 4mm. I met with my surgeon yesterday and he says everything is healing up very well. Being banded shut is really starting to get to me, the "real" food cravings are worse at times than others, but generally being banded shut just isn't fun at all. I have 2 more weeks until the bands are removed and I am trying to make the days pass as fast as possible until then. I still have a lot of remaining swelling left and am looking forward to that going away so I can see what my final appearance will look like. It especially sucks because I am out of school and my friends are constantly calling me wanting to go to the beach and stuff and I cant. Its not so much being banded shut but the fact that my energy levels are still so down. After a couple hours of doing something I feel so tired. Hopefully by the time the bands come off I will feel a lot better and can enjoy the summer.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone but I woke up yesterday morning and noticed that my right side of my jaw especially near my jaw muscle was more swollen than the other side, and more swollen than it had been the day before. I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday and made him aware, he didn't seem to be to alarmed since I am not feverish or sick feeling he didn't think it was an infection just that it was my jaw muscles "waking up". It doesn't look any worse today, in fact it looks a little less swollen so hopefully it ends up being nothing.

Also when I move my head sometimes from one direction to the other I hear/feel a tiny click in my jaw, I don't know if it is my condyles settling into place or what but it feels weird.

Good luck to everyone out there who is recovering and about to go through surgery!

hey Scott - I definitely have more swelling on one side. it was like that right after the surgery and didn't change since (now is day 4). I think you have a great result!!
