Hi Jessica,
Been under the weather the last couple days, but here are the pics:

I'm Brandon, the creator of JawSurgeryBlog.com. I personally had upper and lower jaw surgery on October 30, 2007. Thankfully, everything went beautifully, so I'm trying to make sure everyone else's surgery goes smoothly as well!

Jaw surgery will help tremendously, even though you look great already. When are you planning of having surgery?

thank you so much! and brandon, that's completely understandable, it's no big deal. my surgery is tomorrow at 12 p.m. I'm getting to the hospital at 10. i've pretty much never been more scared in my life! I don't mean to sound like a baby! some people say it's nothing at all and that getting wisdom teeth is out is worse pain (which i find so hard to believe!) and others say it's excruciating. I want to plan for the worst, so I've been doing my research, but because of that, I think I'm psyching myself out! maybe ignorance is bliss... and yes, bexx, I will definitely post my post-surgery pics. maybe not for a while though!
also, still contemplating the nose surgery thing... yes I know it's about 12 hours away, and I have it scheduled to occur right after the jaw surgery -- it will be minor, just shaving down the bridge a bit and making the tip and bridge a little narrower/softer. I told the surgeon I wanted modest and natural looking. but I keep going back and forth, and I don't know if I should cancel it or not. I always wanted a nose surgery as I just thought my nose was a tiny bit too big for my face, but I don't despise my nose. The other end of it is that some say the jaw surgery changes your nose anyway and makes it stick up a little? I don't know... Then there's the pain factor. If the jaw surgery is as bad as so many say, I don't want to put myself through too much. But the nose surgery (which would originally cost $5000) would only cost me $1250 -- the same hospital stay and anesthesia would apply to the nose surgery plus my mom has agreed to put in $1000. Ah! I can't believe it's the night before and I'm still so undecided! Maybe it's just nerves...
This whole surgery was always something I wanted to get over with and it couldn't come soon enough. Now I would do anything to postpone it more...
If anyone is still awake and can offer any suggestions/advice/anything I would really appreciate it!!!
I had orthognathic surgery on my upper and lower jaws to correct a cross-bite and underbite on June 7th, 2010. It's been a long journey, but I would do it all over again. The results have been life-changing, and if sharing my experience helps others, it makes it all the more worthwhile. :)Posted 1 year ago # -
Soon you will be wondering what you were so nervous about. I've heard the worst part about getting surgery is nerves before surgery. The results will be worth it in the end.
In my opinion, and if it were my surgery and my nose, I'd go for it. I'd rather only go under once rather than twice. Plus you can save a considerable amount of money.Posted 1 year ago # -
thank you so much ryan!!! i needed to hear that! i hope you're right about the nerves being the worst part. well i'm sure the eating thing will be annoying too, but i just have to think about how much happier i'll be when this is all behind me! it's amazing how much of a difference it makes when you get feedback from others, i feel so much better :)

Hope you're doing ok! Wonder if u chose to do the nose surgery or not... But I think you look great as it is! Your nostrils were slanted down a bit and I'm sure post op it'll slant it up a bit. It'll seem weird at first, but in the end I think it'll look even better than before. Oh and I'm talking about surgery without the nose surgery. My nose was kind of the same as your pre op nose, and my nostrils are now slanted up a bit. Well hope you like your new face and profile (well after all the swelling goes down) and hope your surgery was a success!
