Hi all, I've been reading posts frequently trying to see if someone has had any of the same problems as I have been experiencing. However, no one has really hit the bulls eye so I figured I should post my own, so I apologize for some of the repetitiveness.
I underwent a lower jaw surgery close to 6 months ago,my jaw was subtly assymetrical to the left side of my face. He performed the surgery from inside of my mouth at my mother's request to not cut in from the outside.
My surgeon continuously assured me that the real results take generally 6 months to a year. He basically said that by the 6th month I would have a pretty accurate/stable look of the final outcome.
However, the 6th month is here & while I'm grateful for the near perfect bite there are plenty of things I'm upset about.
    1. the bottom of my chin has a slight bump/puffiness when I smile, not to mention some sort of a dimple that shows up as well
    2. my bottom lip becomes flat kind of, like stretched out when I smile (I'm hoping this is from my braces?)
    3. I've gained some tingly feeling on my left side, but the right side of my mouth is pretty much fully numb
    4. Overall, my smile hasn't gotten much better :(, and arguably worse but it would be a great improvement if those two problems were to be fixed

If anyone has gone through the same problems please respond, I would greatly appreciate any insight from previous experiences

It's hard to say without seeing pictures, but it's very possible that you still have some residual swelling at this point, because I know I did, and it was just enough to add the bit of puffiness you mentioned.

It took about a year for me to really see the final changes and feel like my face was back to "normal"
