Today it has been exactly 7 months after my overbite/overjet jaw surgery! My overjet was the main thing that was corrected, so my lower jaw was moved forward 1 cm and my upper moved upward several mm. Most of the time I'm happy with the results, though sometimes I feel the change, like in my nose, was for the worst, not the better. I still have numbness in my lower lip and chin, which at this point I will probably have forever.

Vera, I can't believe your unsure about your results, you look fantastic. Your side profile is exactly what I hope will turn out to be like. I think it takes your brain a while to get used to a change like this, and it doesn't help when you have negative comments. Hold on to all the good comments and anything else just ignore!

Your nose has changed a bit mine has too but I think I little upturned nose is cute!

    Congratulations x

Bsso for overbite on 21st December. Lower advanced 8mm upper impacted by 3mm and moved forward 2mm.

Wow I was expecting your face to look 'night and day' and honestly I think you look great! Your side profile is improved with the chin positioning, the only thing that appears somewhat different is your nose... Have you spoken with your surgeon about the things that have been bothering you. Honestly, its sometimes hard to accept the changes with jaw surgery, but you do not look like a totally different person, smile pretty lady, you look great :)

i was expecting something totally different after reading your previous topic about regretting the surgery. you do look different and i think it's hard for you to adjust to it, but honestly, i think you look better. you have a very "cute" look to you. i bet you still have a few months of the very small swelling and structure to settle, and i bet you'll be happy with everything afterwards. it seems from reading these posts that most people have a hard time, psychologically, adjusting to their new features. everyone else can agree that they look better, but they seem to miss their old face or think they look worse. but, i really think you look better. before, your features (cheekbones) weren't as apparent. but, now they're more defined. i definitely was expecting a bad result, and i think you look better :) sorry to hear you're having a hard time, but hopefully you'll adjust

You were cute before, cuter after. Honestly, you don't look that different, you still look like yourself. It is a slight but noticeable change (for the better!), so not worth stressing over.

I haven't had my surgery yet so I probably don't yet fully understand how hard it is to get used to a new face! But rest assured, you look good. And if your bite has been corrected and your recovery has been ok those are major things to be grateful for.

You do realize you kind of resemble a "footballer's WAG" (in a good way of course)? As for people not liking your changes, it's probably because they don't want you to change. You probably are looking a bit too glam'd up for their tastes.
