You look great XD . You will look even better when your braces are off XD PS how your face look now is how my face looked in the 5 month after surgery. Now is more than a year and I can finally see the best result. So be patience

I just wanted to say thanks for all the really nice comments from everyone! I still get down on myself and how I look sometimes, but I think its more from my prior body image issues than the jaw surgery itself. I also think the more people tell me that I look fine, the more it overpowers both my own negative thoughts and prior negative comments. So I'm going to try just hold on to the positives and look forward to getting my braces off in a month.

You have no idea of the amount of swelling you still have at 7 months pos op, girl. I've changed totally from 1 year to 2 years of surgery, and I have gone through not one, but TWO double jaw surgeries. (Im now 4 years post op of the last one). You see the swelling on your cheeks, near the nose? That will still settle a lot, believe-me. And the nose will also change. As for the numbness, I still have it...I had to get used to it, sometimes it bothers a lot, sometimes I don't even remember its there...price yo pay!

Streo, I'm super happy with the braces and how my teeth ended up, and still kind of unsure about the surgery. I hope with the braces off now I'll be better able to evaluate the functional changes from the surgery. My jaw has been cracking a lot more now than it ever did before, and I have yet to be able to chew normally, but I think it had a lot to do with having elastics the whole time.
