From day 1, although I didn't! I was told i would be banded shut but surgery went so well they didnt need to. So i could talk and be sick which was nice, I knew i would be sick so it was nice that I could that with an open mouth. It took me until day 5 to eat. I drunk from day 2, through a syringe, but the thought of food in my mouth yuck!! But I started getting weak and feeling really rubbish. My boyfriend very kindly got me eating. I had made loads of soup, as you can see from pictures, but as I wasn't banded I've been able to eat anything soft straight away. As long as it's got gravy or chicken stock with it, food will mush up pretty well. Eating loads of mashed potato with cheese/beans/fish fingers/tuna/meatballs!! I do miss chewing. My teeth/jaw just feels "strange" but thats normal.
Ice packs worked real well for first few days.
Good luck with your surgery. Please keep us updated.

Enjoy eating all your Favorite food now!! I'm so pleased I did that but I only did it 2weeks before my surgery.

Hi Abbil, just been checking out your progress and your xrays look fab. Be good to see some more pics to see how the swelling is doing. Sorry to be so nosey, I am hoping to return to work a couple weeks after my op (only work part time) hence the interest. Really pleased things have turned out well for you.
I had all my measurements taken today by orthodontist. Still have lots of questions and feel like I need some reassurance that I am not going to look worse post op, so will do a list for my pre-op next week.

Gummy smile, overbite and incompetent lips. Braces on Dec. 2011Posted 6 months ago # -
Thanks faceache. I saw a friend from work today for first time and she could still see swelling as my cheek bones are quite prominent so I still have a way to go.

There could be worse places to have swelling! I'm thinking potato head, balloon head... I just presumed that swelling would make your face fat, your's looks very defined. x
