    Hi y'all! I just had my double jaw surgery a week ago.


    Right after I got my braces, August 2010


    Two weeks ago, before surgery


    Day after surgery


    8 days post surgery

    I had my surgery about six months before the orthodontist's recommendation, due to being aged off my parents' insurance at 26. However, I am so far thrilled with the results. It is such a trip to be able to brush both rows at the same time.

    Wow you look amazing I can't believe your only day 8. I'm jealous lol ;)

    Bsso for overbite on 21st December. Lower advanced 8mm upper impacted by 3mm and moved forward 2mm.

    Thanks y'all! I was really surprised how much the swelling's gone down in a week. I hate the liquid/soft diet of course, but my friend made me the most delicious chicken poblano soup all grinded up. My first protein in a week. :) There's a lot of swelling on the inside of my mouth, and the stitch underneath my lip bleeds whenever I brush. Plus, I hate how much I drool. But all in all, it is so great to be through the first hellish week.

    Looks great so far! I can't wait to see more pics as your recovery progresses.

    What a relief that you were able to get the surgery done before your insurance ended!

    On 12/28/11 I had a 4 piece LeFort 1 procedure done to correct an open bite.

    Absolutely, and it was pretty damn close. I had my surgery Jan 19th, and I turned 26 on Jan 25th. My surgeon has been great throughout the whole process.

    You look great! Did you have an open bite? I had double jaw surgery for an open bite on January 23rd. Your smile is so big for 8 days!
