so I just got back today from the hospital, and Lying down and resting. Just wonder if anyone has any useful tips that may help me in a faster recovery. I took all my necessary medications right when I got home, Strapped on my ice pack, and drank and booster drink and some apple juice. They said I should around 8 of those booster drinks a day. I don't know haha, I don't have any big concerns, but just thought I'd post on this site, since any feedback is great at this stage.

Seems i missed a few things. I just had lower jaw surgery, i would post a picture if I knew how> The only thing really bothering me at the moment is the tape under my chin where the incisions are. Right now I've put a freeze pack underneath it, which seems to be helping the itchiness I was having. Any advice?

Keep that ice pack on 24/7 if you can! I kept mine on 24/7 for the first week and i think it really helped a lot with the swelling....plus it just made me feel a lot better! walk around every day if you can to get your strength back and *ahem*keep your bowels functioning. Once you're up to smoothies, get some good protein powder to keep up your caloric intake. Muscle Milk is a good brand. I'm not sure i have any suggestions to help with the itchiness.... i didn't have any incisions at all on the outside of my face.... maybe someone else can help with that one?

check out my blog if you want... i have a lot of milestones and info on there. :) SurvivingJawSurgery.blogspot.com

Well last night I definitely had a better sleep than at the hospital. I tried to sleep with A ice pack on, but it didn't work. So i slept without any ice on me. I think I actually woke up a little less swollen, so I guess it's going better than yesterday so far. I had the surgery on the 31st, so I guess this would be day 3? Or maybe day 2 of recovery? Try not to think about it, seems to work well. I tried to post a picture again, but I don't think it's working. I tried that link without much success. Can anyone quickly explain how to? That would be great thanks!
