    Hi guys,
I am a new immigrant to Australia and will move to Melbourne very soon. I am at the age of 30 with complex problems in my teeth and jaw. My front view looks fine but the side profile is really ugly(it should be overbite I guess), so I am considering doing a surgery.

Right now I am searching for some good orthodontists/surgeons in Melbourne, but I am not sure how to find the real good one, cuz there are few comments about them and every practice say that they are the best on their web sites. Anybody could kindly recommend one or give some suggestions?

I had my under-bite corrected Dr Jocelyn Shand. She is based in Collins Street and also has a practice in University Hill, Bundoora. She is the one of nicest women you'll ever meet and she's so reassuring about the process. My orthodontist is Dr James Curtain and he is based in Camberwell, he is also lovely and is very gentle. I recommend going to him first, to assess your situation and he will need to put the braces on and ultimately recommend whether or not he thinks you should get surgery. Dr Shand was recommend to me by him and I couldn't be happier with my doctors, they are both lovely. I hope this helps.

    Good Luck!

My surgeon was Mr Poon, he operates in the city, glen waverly, richmond and berwick. He's very good, I've also heard good things about Alf Nastri. My ortho is Angelina Zea shes fine at what she does although lacks people skills at times. I wouldnt worry too much about which surgeon you choose. They've spent more than a decade in med school studying.

Focus on finding an ortho you like, and they will then recommend the surgeon that they usually work with.

Hi guys, I'm in Melbourne too.

Has anyone heard of Andrew Bridgeman? He works with an orthodontist in Balaclava - Alex Yusopov. Would love to hear any feedback on him before I bite the bullet and book him in...

    Thanks!

I just had my surgery done on the 7th by Dr Alf Nastri. He can highly recomended by my ortho and works out from CBD.

I will have pictures of before and after when i am not so swollen and you can have better indication of his work.

Hey brucey! My surgeon is alf nastri too! I've heard good things too whenever people have asked me who my surgeon was! But his really nice and makes you feel really comfortable with he surgery which is definetly good for my mum! She refused to let me have the surgery until our consultation with him which she put off a lot! my Ortho is really good so I trust him and he only works with alf! How did your surgery go? What did you have done? I have surgery in a couple of weeks!
