My surgery date was 24th February 2011. I had my top and bottom jaw done to correct a severe underbite! I am so happy with the results so far and I can't wait for the whole process to be done, my braces to be off, and to have that perfect smile!
But for now, I am so happy with how everything has gone so far :)

    HERE'S MY JOURNEY SO FAR:

Before pictures: (Found if quite hard to find any pictures of the side of my jaw! I guess I rarely ever kept any!)

warning: MY BITE WAS VERY BAD!

    AFTER OP:

    FIRST NIGHT:

2 DAYS ON, SWELLING GOT BIGGER:

    3 DAYS ON:

    9 DAYS ON:

    3 - 4 WEEKS ON:

SORRY FOR THE MASS UPLOAD OF PICTURES!

Hope my journey so far in photos is in some interest and help for someone :)

Oh my Gosh you look amazing!

I wouldn't at a first glance have noticed how prominent your underbite was until I saw your open-mouth pictures, but I'm soo Impressed at the difference!

I've just signed my concent form to have my first lot of braces fitted - starting to get nervous!

If you get the time, would you mind reading my post I started? your surgery outcome is very simillar to how mine has been described and anything you can tell me would be wonderful!

Thank you and again - wow! x

Hey, I feel for you, I kind of have a similar bite myself. Your post-surgery results look amazing. It makes you look younger and brings out lots of attractive features. Keep posting new pics as the swelling comes down too! Thanks for sharing this!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I know it was only really clear when I smiled, even so, it made me really self-conscious all the time! A lot of people said they didn't even notice anything wrong but for me it was a big deal so this surgery was definitely one of the best things, if not the best thing, I have ever done.
And of course I don't mind, hopefully I can find it in a minute :)
How long are your braces on before your surgery?
    Thank you again!

I'm so happy with the results so far and know they will only get better. And I will do. Thanks for your comment!

Jaminedawn - you look amazing, how old are you by the way? I have an overbite and was nervous how my nose would change. You can see yours has but it looks really realky good :) I am not so concerned now!!

How many mm did they move your top and bottom jaw?

I get my surgery in around Oct/nov - I'm very nervous but at the same time want to be there now do I can start recovering. Sounds sad but feel my life (relationships) are on hold until after!!

    thank you so much sarah!!

    I'm 19.
And yess my nose has changed but I like it a lot more now as my nose as well as my jaw was something I wasn't so keen on before! But my surgeon did let me know that he was going to sort of push my nose up a little, and I prefer it a lot more! So I couldn't be happier. Have you been told your nose would change?

I can never remember the mm, but I THINK bottom moved 4-6mm and top was about 3mm I THINK, they also swayed the top and bottom jaw to centre it.

No, I know exactly what you mean about relationships! I suppose because it effected my confidence before. I was counting down till my operation! I hope yours goes perfectly too!
    Thank you again, Jasmine x

Yes I have warned that my nose will widen slightly & the tip will go upwards - all because of the top jaw being moved. Like you my top is being moved around 3mm forward (hence change in nose) - the more the top is moved the more the nose changes!

    Congrats again x
