    Hi,
I'm new to the forum and wanted to say thank you because all the information is incredibly helpful!
I had double jaw surgery 1 week ago, am still quite swollen, but otherwise seem to be recovering ok. Today my bottom jaw, in the chin area started to spasm a lot! When I look in the mirror my chin looks clenched towards my lip and I have to make an effort to relax the muscle. Then it happens again...I just wondered if anyone else had found that their chin makes these movements independently and if anyone had any tips to help calm them down as they are REALLY annoying!!

    Thanks :)

Hi! I had my double jaw surgery about 13 days ago now and I'm also still swollen alot. I get these spasm things as well although they happen on the left had side of my jaw very near my chin though. They mainly happen if I turn my head too fast or at night time. My jaw seems to try and move itself into a different position. I asked my surgeon about it but he said there is nothing you can do about these sorts of things and that it will fade in time.. SorryI haven't got a solution for this but hopefully someone else might because I could sure use some help with this too!! haha

Goodluck with the erest of your recovery, hope your not in too much pain!

Hey kat im only 2 days post surgery but im already gettin spasms, surgeon warned me about this though and he said its ur muscles tryin to push ur jaw back to the way it was, it will eventually fade he said, but if u have to wear elastics like me make sure u keep them in other wise ur jaw could move.

my face pure swollen and getting oins and neddles in my face and numb everywhere, could last for 12 wks i was told.

hope all is going well for u too. keep us updated. i have pics up of my progress, surgery dec 6th, check it out. the diff is amazing i think but its wierd cuz its not me, if u know wot i mean.lol
