Hi! Newbie here...I went to see a surgeon yesterday and it didn't go like I'd hoped. I have a Class II Malocclusion, but a very good bite. I was diagnosed with Moderate Sleep Apnea in September (API 20), so I wanted to see if maybe the surgery could be covered by insurance now. The answer I got was..if I just wanted to fix my bite, then no..because the move wouldn't be enough to get rid of the sleep apnea in his opinion. If I wanted to fix the apnea it'd be a lot more drastic move off >10mm. My question is..of those that have had MMA's for sleep apnea and were moved that much..how drastic is it?? Did your face completely change?? Thanks for reading!

10mm> sounds pretty drastic, especially if you like the look of your face right now.
Was it the medical opinion of your surgeon or your insurance? Because if your surgeon says that a smaller mm change could 'alleviate' apnea then I don't see why insurance won't pay for it...
