I'm 4 months post op and one side of my chin is still pretty numb. However, there is signs of life to it as around the area the nerve tingles when it is touched, so I'm sure it will come back over time.

It honestly is not that much of a problem, because how much sensation do you use in that area anyways? The most discomforting about it is that my facial muscles require a little more tensing to move the area, otherwise everything is good.

I'm 5 months post op and my chin and bottom lip are 'tingly'. But like Gordon said, I don't generally need sensation in my chin to get through life!

I'm 8 mths post op and still numb on my gums, chin and lower lip in spots. It seems to get better little by little but my nerves seem to be crazy. If I tap my upper lip I can feel it in my forehead...weird but it's all the same nerve
