College Life made miserable by Jaw Surgery

    Hey alanna,

    I'm an architecture student, and before my jaw surgery i would be in studio working on projects 12hrs a day every day of the week.
    I had my jaw surgery during the semester as well, I was given medical leave for 4 weeks, but I went back to class after one week.
    Catching up WAS really hard, but I think if you do some work at home while you're recovering, it won't be that bad. After about the first couple of days you will probably get sick of lying around in bed and studying/reading will seem like heaven! :D

    ii, you went back after 1 week? wow, did your recovery go really fast or were you still really swollen? Also were you in pain still after the first week? Thanks for the help!

    I will be doing my surgery mid way through my semester. Similar situation where I am also studying engineering. I have just accepted the fact I can only miss 10 days of university at most. So will just have to try and study when recovering and get back to Uni as soon as possible even
    If my face is the size of a balloon.

    Hope you have a speedy recovery and things work out.

    thanks,I hope yours goes well too! I figure If I am determined to catch up I can and being wired shut will probably help me, no distractions of going out etc.. Hopefully it is not as bad as I think it will be. Good luck :)

    Swelling had decreased enough by the end of 7 days that I just looked a little chubby. It had started to go down around day 5.

    In terms of pain, I was lucky enough to not have any. I didn't feel anything so I didn't take any painkillers.
    What was kind of annoying was having to lug 5 or so containers of soup around so I wouldn't be hungry while spending the whole day on campus.
