Hi folks, I thought I would post some pics to show you how I'm doing.
I've a long way to go and my face / mouth area is very tight. It hurts a bit to smile and i have a very lop sided mouth, which I am exercising on to try and work the muscles.
    Here go's

    before

    after

    few hours post op !!

Bsso for overbite on 21st December. Lower advanced 8mm upper impacted by 3mm and moved forward 2mm.

Looks great Donna. Bet your really pleased - my smile is a bit loo sided as well, my right side is more swollen. But, we are both the other side now do things can only get better.

    Congrats :)

Over bite: palate expander, braces & bi-surgery with genioplasty Jan 2012!

I think they pulled my right side forward 1 mm further than the left hence the lop sided bit, but I'm finally getting to the point where I can see in the few weeks time its going to be worth all the trouble. To have a more balanced face and not push my jaw forward all the time will fab.

    How are you feeling now?

My left was pulled forward two mm more, but it's my right that's more swollen. It will hopefully sort itself out eventually :) like you say - few more weeks and it will be but a distant memory :)

I'm ok, my nerve on my left side is still driving me bananas but not as much so hopefully it is starting to settle. I have one more week off, but now I'm in panic mode about going back.... And how much work I will have to catch up on :(

How is your been now you are back?

Donna you're gorgeous! I think you looked super cute even before surgery and now you just look amazing! You have such a beautiful smile and jawline. You must be so pleased!

Double jaw surgery on 12/17/11. BSSO mandibular advancement of 10 mm; two-piece le fort 1 with 3 mm impaction and maxilla brought forward 1 mm.

Sarah, those nerves do drive you mad, mine got really bad around week 3 ish and eased off after that.

Work was pretty good they were all very nice to me and didn't rib me about my chip munk cheeks lol

Tara, thank you, the before pic isn't that accurate as I was holding my jaw forward, habit. Can't find any of me with it relaxed. It's so easy to press delete in this digital age ;)

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow whatever happens I hope things improve for you really quickly x

Thank you PrincessLea, good luck with your op, I hope NHS staff are not striking on the 1st, I know how frustrating it is having your op cancelled x

I have found a better before pic which shows how my nose and recessed chin made my side profile look so bad:-

i am happy that my nose now is now more in proportion to my face, I've always wanted a nose job but can live with it how it is now. :)
