Double Jaw Surgery 4 Days Post Op

    Hey guys, I just had double jaw surgery and a genioplasty on August 10th so I'm still pretty early in the recovery process. What I had done was my surgeon brought my upper jaw forward around 8mm (don't know the exact number), rotated my lower jaw and then brought out my chin a good amount. I didn't have plates put on my lower jaw, but instead am wired shut.
    The first few days were pretty rough, not gonna lie, but it's slowly getting better. I actually had an allergic reaction to one of the antiobiotics, so my face swelled up really bad during surgery, but all that swelling has disappeared and now I just have the swelling from the surgery itself. Even thought I'm already all swelled up I can tell my face is much wider and fuller and my chin definitely comes out more which is nice. Because of the swelling I can't manage to bring my lips together, but I'm sure it'll get better soon.
    I'm craving some good food right now, but I'm having to stick to an all liquid diet which is definitely tough at times, but I know I can handle it. Pain isn't really teribble. I always have som sort of aching, but nothing too terrible, and sometimes when I swallow my lower jaw aches more for a few seconds then goes back to normal which is weird. Also, my face tingles ALOT. I'm always feeling some sort of tingling, or blood rushing through my face, so I guess that means I'm getting feelings back quickly, at least I hope that's the case.
    I'm really excited to see my actual results, but with iall this swelling, I'll have to wait a bit longer, who knows how long I'll take. If you guys have any questions, or tips about anything, feel free to comment!

    Hello!

    I'm day 10 recovery from upper and lower plus chin.
    I first posted here on my 4th day too, you sound far more upbeat than I was!

    Doing much better now though, so just wanted to say keep truckin.

    The liquid diet is really lame, I had a better few days recently, I can stomach a bit more than before and my surgeon gave me some different flavoured Ensure drinks.
    Are you on a liquid diet for 6 weeks too? By week 3 I think I'll be so fed up.

    I keep getting told by family that they can see a difference in my face, I still feel monstrous however. Fingers crossed.
