Hey guys, thank god its finally time to get unwired and starting eating some good food. The recovery went well so far, i had no pain, most of the swelling is gone and i have feeling everywhere except part of my upper lip and left side of my chin and bottom. the results seem to be good, the bite is looking good but i still feel as if my surgeon didnt move my jaws forwards enough aside from that im pretty happy to be getting unweired. Here are some question i was wondering about:

    1. what type of foods should i eat tom?
    2. Since i was wired shut im sure my jaw will be sore from having to using its muscles again, is it really bothersome and how long will that last? a day or two?
    3. When will i be able to comfortably be able to pizza and burgers?
    4. Do you think i will be able to drink some alcohol this weekends, its like a getting welling party from my friends
    5. how will it take before my jaw will start feeling normal again?

Thanks for all the help you guys have provided throughout this whole experience.

    1. You don't want to jump right into any hard foods and you probably won't feel like it anyway, start out slow with soft foods and gradually work your way back in over the next week or so.

    2. It can actually take a couple of weeks or more to feel like it's really back to normal and regain full motion.

    3. It's tough to say because it depends on each case, but for me it was at least a few weeks after being unwired.

    4. I don't know the specifics on that since I don't drink, so definitely ask your surgeon.

    5. Again it depends on the case, but don't get discouraged if it takes a few weeks or a couple of months, better safe than sorry this early in recovery.

    6. Definitely another thing to ask the surgeon, my first instinct would be no if there's any pressure on the face, but let us know what you find out...
