the thing that connects your gums to your upper inner lip is called the frenum or frenulum,

post op it is no longer connected, looks kind of weird, anybody taht had upper jaw surgery have this issue as well?

im wondering if anyone had this issue and ended up getting it cut off. if this is the case, why not cut it off during surgery....

Mine is connected but very high up and to the left. When you say it looks wierd, it's not something you can see unless you're looking inside your mouth and only I and my dentist do that so surely it makes no difference where it is? It's how your top lip to your face so why would they cut it off?
Do you have a photograph so we can see what you mean?

mine is basically hanging off and looks like some sort of lady part,

i agree no one can see it and not a big deal,

when i say cut it off i mean cut off the part that is now hanging off, not the whole thing

ill mention it to my doc next time i see him

My son had the frenum (top) cut

By laser: fast, no pain, cheap, by dentist
