Going out after SURGERY

    I need some advice. Ive gone out to the movies and gone out fishing off a bridge about a week after surgery. Should i be doing these things ?? Does it affect my swelling process ? My swelling has gone down but i still wake up with pain ): Im so frustrated with this whole thing. It really is getting the best out of me. I MISS FOOD !!!! How long before i can actually eat something with texture or bite into something ???

    I was going out walking the dogs with my mum 2 days after coming out of hospital. Felt better after having some fresh air. Wouldn't say it affects swelling at all. Majority of my swelling had gone within 3 weeks.

    I started chewing stuff about 4 weeks onwards, like I was eating tuna sandwiches, had some takeaway pizza, chips, cheese on toast etc, but it all depends on you. I just tried eating it to see what I could manage and just tried other stuff.

    It's good for you to get out and do things and helps to reduce your swelling as you're moving about. It's also good for you psychologically. It's different for everyone as to when they can chew. For me, I'm still not chewing very much at 3 months post op but I've read about people eating pretty much anything they want from about six weeks. i remember hitting a bit of a wall at three weeks about missing food but as I got better and my swelling reduced I felt loads better about it all. Very soon you won't remember how rubbish you felt!

    I can't describe in words how good it was to bite in to a pizza haha. I've tried a supermarket bought pizza the other day, and they're a bit harder to chew as they're tougher than takeaway pizzas, but takeaway ones are perfect as they're really soft even with the toppings on.
