Hi. Can anyone comment on how annoying the numbness is after surgery? I guess I'm concerned about permanent numbness mostly. I think I read 10% of people have some permanent numbness. Is that right? I'm afraid I'll be in the 10% because I'm in my 40's. Does anyone have any comments? Thanks!

Hi, the numbness is a little annoying at first, because it feels weird to not be able to feel much of anything. It makes eating a little difficult too, because you never know if food is on your chin, or if your drink is running down and out of your mouth, haha.

You get used to it pretty quickly though, just like anything else, and it goes away before you know it. It took mine a few months to come back, but some people get it back a lot faster.

I don't know the exact percentage of people that have some permanent numbness, but I do remember that even those that do, it's usually only a very small spot here or there, instead of all over numbness, which would be much harder to deal with.

If you have any other questions, just let me know, and good luck with the process!

Brandon, thanks for your post. It makes me feel better that most permanent numbness is just a small section.
