    The surgeon usually wants to see you up to a few months after surgery, im 8 weeks post op and I have seen my surgeon twice so far and i'm seeing him again tomorrow, and then he will want to see me again, if needed in the next few weeks otherwise, at around 6 months.

    I would say that you should atleast stay 6 weeks, maybe 5 weeks if you heal well, because it takes about 6 weeks for the jaw to fully heal, so if anything happens up until then you will need your surgeon, and i'm assuming that you mean internationally, so you would be unreachable if anything happens and you need your surgeon. But you would definitely need to ask your surgeon, just in case.

    I saw my surgeon three times before surgery, he came to see me morning of my operation because i was so nervous, then saw him in recovery room, then most days i was in hospital. I also saw the people he works with - they put my elastics on in hospital and came to see me too.

    I saw him every week until i was 4 weeks post op, then i'm seeing him again 8 weeks.
