What did you have done to your jaw? Why did you need a bone graft? Wish I could help with your question bu I haven't had my surgery yet. Good luck with your recovery.
I had a 2 piece LeFort 1 that widened my upper jaw 3-4mm, my upper jaw was shortened by 6mm to reduce my gummy smile, pushed back 3mm and tilted up in the back. My lower jaw was pushed back 3mm. Surgery was December 1, 2011

I had an underbite so they moved upperjaw forward & I think to help hold the jaw in place along with the screws & plates

Hello, I'm on day 18 right now!
I still feel quite swollen and weak.
(I add weak as it sounds like you might be going out! The lack of nutrients is getting to me)I'm certainly better than I was, however I'm still pretty darn swollen.
I can't see much myself however, this is what I'm told, I still just feel grumpy and puffy.I think it does depend a lot on the person though, everyone seems to recover differently!

Okay, Ah I wanna know though hha

Most of the swelling had gone for me by day 18. Was hardly noticeable unless I pointed it out to someone, but as for how much energy I had I had next to none, so I'd be careful if you are planning on going out etc. I tried visiting a friend in Scotland for a few days. Had to come home the next day as I just felt drained.

Hi there! I'm currently day 13 post-op (a bit less than 18, but hey I thought I'd help!) and a large portion of my swelling has gone down. I think kscott is definitely right in that it recovery is totally dependent on the individual! I personally have been surprisingly energetic and out of the house tons.

Hi!
I am almost seven weeks post-surgery. At 18 days, I was still pretty weak and low energy. I would get bored at home and go out to run errands, but usually I would get exhausted after about an hour and have to come home. Just be careful - you'll think you have the energy to go out, but you'll tired out quickly and suddenly. It will start to improve a lot after the three to four mark, though!Posted 8 months ago # -
This is a photo of me from day 18 (I took photos every day for the first month) As you can see, I'm still pretty swollen and have bruises on my cheeks and down my neck (which you can't really see very well in the photo) but to most people I look vaguely normal!

I had double jaw surgery on august 16th and was due to start school on september 6th so I had 21 days to recover and, as I like to call it, deflate. But I was able to go to school and was able to go out at about day 18 even though I was still quite swolen, you should be fine :)
