I have just found out that i am going to have jaw surgery as suggested by my maxifacial surgeon..there are like only two of them in my country..my jay is longer on one side(wonder how that even happens) but yes it is.for now am just collecting as much info as i can on dental and esp jaw surgeries to guide my journey..am scheduled for surgery next week monday..i am worried about resulting loose skin(does this ever occur) the marks around my ear? n posible pain that am sure comes with any surgery..kindly share your experiences(if u have had any done)n general information on what to expect during and after the surgery...

there shouldn't be any loose skin or external marks as all the surgery is done from the inside of you mouth. How have you just found out you're having surgery and you're having it in just over a week? Have you not had months of orthodontics to align your teeth?
Jaw surgery isn't very painful but I'm not sure what you're having done so it's hard to say what will happen

well,
i had xrays done like ten or so weeks ago, my dentist had suggested alignment earlier in the year but from the xrays done..it seems it is my jaw that is slightly broader and longer on one side..the conclusion -surgery followed by a year of braces..like i said we have only two surgeons(this specialization) in EA so i dont have many people i can see on this..
