Ker123, are you happier with your results? Are you looking to reverse the surgery? I am in the same boat! Can't find a surgeon that will reverse it....

Hi im so glad i found this forum i'm glad to know people are going through the same thing as me... although clearly wish none of us were faced with this!

I'm 17 and got upper jaw surgery on August 9th 2011 to correct a slight openbite -so now nearly 4 months on i should be happy right? well no... i honestly feel like i have made the biggest mistake of my life! i liked my face before and i always used to get complements on how i looked. However since the surgery i cannot stand how i look... likewise my nose has widened significantly at the bottom; and i dont know if this is possible but i feel like it is also shorter than it used to be and that the top of it has been thinned... maybe due to shaving of the bone at the top of my nose?? well whatever the reason it has made my one nice nose look a whole lot worse. Also my mouth now appears to stick out an awful lot -especially from the side! :/ i'm just finding things very hard. i dont think i can put myself through a reversal but im struggling to see how i can deal with looking like this - knowing that i used to look so much better!! i just wish i had known all of these effects before as i would never have put myself through it... i just want myself how i used to be back both visually, emotionally and scoially!

This was written by OP 1 Juli 2011:

"So I met up with a friend just yesterday who mentioned that my face looked different from when she had seen me just 2 months after my surgery.

Now almost 2 years later, I have gotten used to my new face. I guess the best advice I could give anyone is that healing takes a long time, both inside and out."

Are there any surgeons out there that would reverse the surgery in the US? If anyone knows could you post the names of the doctors? Thanks
