Just got done with jaw surgery 2 days ago

    Hey i jus had jaw surgery to move up upper jaw forward and my bottom jaw back. What i have a question about is the next day my surgeon team decided to move my lower jaw forward by 1 mm in order to fit the splint better has this happened to anyone else. Also i am wired shit so i have to drink through syringe and it is very uncomfortable and cold did you guys feel it was cold too? Thanks for all the help.

    I had that tingling sensation on my left face for more than 1 month I feel as if water is dripping off from my face with that cold sensation. Glad that my swells had gone down alot. Its like 2 months plus near 3 rd month at 21 dec =) I was fully shut with bands for 1 week, then slowly those bands went down to 1 on each side I only get that nasty splint removed at 4th week. I'm now back with braces treatment cause my class 3 5mm underbite became a class 1 overbite with some bit of alignment for my teeth. =) Its real great when you can start eating again and seeing that over/underbite gone. =) For food just blend in what ever you usually eat with soup/milk till its liquid form. And have 2 to 3 servings of ensures to compensate those losses. I was on a syringe for 5 days ont the 6th day I was able to drink from a bottle and cup with my mouth fully band shut with splint =) The 1st 10 days are the worst after that you will be feeling better each day as time pass by.

    Glad to know i am not the only one with a cold sensation. Also did it feel weird to touch or scratch ur upper cheek after surgery like you should push on it? And did you u hear about anyone having their lower lower jaw pushed forward after surgery to fit the splint better i feel like my jaw will jus move that 1 mm back once the wires come off.

    My head was so bloaed that even things like turning my head is hard for me so everything feel weird. Well I thought my jaw just felled off when the surgeon unbanded my teeth after 7 days. I feel uneasy to move my jaws, at week 2 I keep having the feel that my left jaw is misaligned but now every swell is almost gone and I feel great=) Its more of those wild thoughts people have just like phantom limbs when the person still feels a hand or leg having it amputated. Just like me having the feel of having a underbite and off center lower jaw when everything had been properly fixed. Don't worry the titan plates and screws are strong enough to hold your bones in place. Just let your jaws have a nice rest for like 6 weeks so that bones will have a good recovery.
