Hey all,
Saw my orthodontist yesterday. He took out my plastic 'waifer' - a relief as it no longer cuts my tongue every time I swallow.
He took of the surgical bands and replaced them with some with a big more give, but has made my teeth very sensitive, although not that different from having wires changed on braces normally.
I'm allowed to take them off and change them for food. Last night I had some scrambled egg but it was such a faff trying to eat. I could barely open my mouth, pretty sure it was a combination of stiffness at being wired shut for 8 days, ouchyness from the stitches and healing jaw bone and the numbness in my face.
My main concern right now is just that I can't open my mouth very much. Obviously I'm not meant to open it too much right now, but I could barely get even a tablet in my mouth without forcing it in myself.
Did anyone else feel like this?
