Hi, I have an overbite and have been wearing braces for the past 11 months; been told I could have jaw surgery to lengthen jaw, and have chin reduced - as profile wise I have a big chin which hides the smallness of the jaw!
Is anyone else in this situation? or had similar surgeries ? All I can think of is how much pain it would be; I am really nervous

I had an underbite so can't really comment on the final result but trust me, it's not painful. I know it's hard to believe, given what they do to you during surgery, but your face will be so numb afterwards that yes, you'll be uncomfortable but it's not really painful at all.
I've lost count of the number of people who have come here after surgery to say it was nowhere near as scary as they thought it would be.
Do you have a date for your surgery yet? All the best when it comes along!

Hi happysmiley, that's exactly the type of surgery I'll likely be having early next year. Ive had braces for 17 months. Surgery cost is around 8k plus any hosp costs so I'm budgeting 15k all up for surgery... I think I will have to insure my mouth like celebrities ensure their bums when this is all over!!!
