    Hi Maisymajaw

It depends of the case. When you have a severe case the doctor recommend to have a bi-jaw surgery. In my case I had an overbite, but my problem was solve just having my upper jaw move upward and a piece of my bone removed. The doctor didn't have to do anything in my lower jaw since this one was in the correct alignment and position and I have a good chin so No genioplasty. Listen to your surgeon!!

    Have a great day

Can you upload some pictures so I can give you an opinion? Front and profile.
if you are not satisfied with your surgeon go get another opinion from a different surgeon.

Hey I am having the same thing as you (just lower jaw surgery), but 0the surgery looks to be scheduled to go ahead in April/May. I got braces on about 3 months ago, will have surgery in 3 months then the braces on for 6-8 months after surgery. Is this what your doing

I had just lower jaw surgery to make my jaws more even (as well as genioplasty cos I was 'a bit chinny') mon 14th and I stayed in hospital overnight. My face is majorly swollen I look like henry the 8th but I think the swelling has gone down a bit even after just one night. The pain is not that bad its more that you just feel really uncomfortable and swallowing hurts quite alot. I had braces for 3 years before I was ready for surgery so I really wanted to get on with it so I could hurry up and get it all finished. Its only been 2days since I had the surgery but so far i can honestly say that it hasnt been that bad at all!! any questions just ask
