    Hello.
    Im new to this site
Today i actually got my braces on
I am having Jaw surgery in DEC 2011
so i will be having the braces on for 9 months
my lower jaw is shifted to the right
so my chin is way off :[
I really only wanted to have the surgery to get the problem fixed but turns out that the surgery CANNOT be properly completed without the braces so with much hesitation i got them
I am not really bothered with the braces, I am fine with having them
I am mostly worried and embarrassed that my jaw and bite will be getting worse in preparation for the surgery
I know things are suppose to get worse before the surgery b/c the teeth are being positioned for the post-surgery bite and all but still, I am worried about my physical appearance
    I am in HS
    a junior
I have them for my senior year :[
    I am very sad
I usually have a very high self esteem and this has just brought me WAY DOWN
my problem wasnt really noticeable but it was off by 5 mm and my surgeon has told me that it will be getting much worse
i just dont want to look like a banana with my chin out to the side
    you know
    ugh
i just need a little boost of confidence
I am on spring break now and dont want to return to school the upcoming week
    :[
any advice or confident boosters? it will greatly be appreciated
    thanks you guys :]

Im having surgery anytime between September and November. Im ready for it in September but because my oral surgeon is on mat leave im on a waiting list for september. I hate my bite, and even though my teeth look nicer closer together more even (it's amazing what braces can do) my bite is getting worse after every tightening. Im hoping and praying I get the surgery in sept, it's bad enough I have to deal with this ugly bite throughout the summer let alone longer than that. So hopefully it will get better and I ll have surgery in Sept.

Mostly cost of lower jaw surgery, also known as maxillary surgery performed on patients who suffer much from jaw abnormalities and uneven growth. This particular procedure also involved the moving, cutting, and even bone grafting in order to correct these problems. When bone grafting happens, it may be implemented using mostly artificial bones or even taken from a separate bone in the patient's body.
