    Subu,

Hey, I'm a student but I can at least attest to my well-being after surgery. I'm 3 weeks post-op exactly and I had double jaw surgery. I feel great, though I can't do too much heavy work yet.

It seems that most people go back to work 2-4 weeks after their surgery. It really depends on the nature of your work as well. If you have a desk job, you should be perfectly fine.

If there's a lot physical work (or lots of talking), I would say be careful, but I think you'll be fine as well.

Just make sure you listen to your body and see how it feels as you recover. Hope this helps!

    Hi Subu!
I am due to have my first operation next Saturday and i am quite nervous. I have told work 3 weeks (i am a massage therapist so my job is pretty physical), i hope that is enough!

    Good luck!!

    Thanks Subu!
I have just got back from the hospital (spent two nights there) and can't believe how good i feel! I had upper jaw surgery (surgically assisted rapid maxilla expansion), a wisdom tooth out and two other teeth out. I have to start turning the expander in a few days.
The doctors all said how little i had swelled and how impressed they were that i had no bruising. I blame the Arnica but they would never agree with that!
I felt pretty stuffy yesterday and my face felt like it was being stretched over too many teeth, as far as pain goes i barely used the pain button and have to say it did not get any worse than a 3. It is more just the discomfort or not being able to breath properly and the stretching skin.

Lets see how the next few days go! I am so hungry and bored of baby porridge already!
    Good luck all!
