I am 4 weeks Post Op and have had no feeling in my lower lip or chin since surgery. I would say my lip and chin are always tingly feeling with pins and needles. Sometimes I get the feeling it's bubbling or twinges of pain. But lately, the last few days, my lower lip can tingle so bad it feels like it's on fire! Does this mean feeling is trying to come back???? Please oh please! I hope so! Strangely enough it's worse when I go to bed at night...

Yep -- as much as burning and pins and needles sucks, it means your nerves are in the process of coming back to life!

what talkalot24 said! It's annoying but it's a good sign. Mine was horrible for a few days and drove me nuts but I now have all the sensation back in my mouth and lips after eight weeks :-)

Oh thank God! All the different and weird sensations have been constant but the intense burning is new. Yay! There's hope for me after all...here's hoping I talk better too once I have feeling :) 8 weeks sounds very reassuring Rachel! How about you talkalot? Do you have all feeling back and if so, when did it come back?

It's really strange because it doesn't all happen in one go. I was driving the other day and realised I could feel my nose again! One side of my lips were almost instantly better so I was a bit wonky for the first few weeks and was getting really worried but I'm all even again now :-)

I'm only 3 weeks post op ... I still don't have feeling in part of my left cheek, my chin, or my lower lip. But I'm having lots of burning and tingling sensations, too!

Thanks for this info! I'm only 11 days post surgery and my bottom lip has a "scalded" sensation...like a real bad burning. I was starting to worry what it may mean. If this weird sensation means I may get some feeling back, then I'll put up with it. Everything is pretty well back to normal except for minor swelling right at surgery site and complete numbness of lower lip and chin. My younger sis had her's done as well 6 years ago, she is still completely numb in lower lip and chin...I'm a bit worried...
