This will be the 6th night i've not had a good nights sleep. I can control my swollowing/breathing good throughout the day, yet when it gets to night i don't.

I've had an hour sleep and woke up feeling scared because i couldn't breathe. I manage to sleep fine during the day though, i'm getting so drained.

Also, my belly keeps making these bubbling noise, is that from all the medication?!

I too had trouble sleeping, for about a week and a half. Averaged 4 hrs; some days more, many days much less. Attributed to breathing too. Taking a long, hot shower helped. I was able to extract large lumps of mucus, boogers if you will. The steam in the shower loosened them up. They were bloody, which is normal.

My wife reminded me that da Vinci slept 15 minute intervals, 4 times a day, for a total of 1 hour. Einstein did the same. They both died old. That doesn't mean that you can get by with little sleep. Sleeping helps heal, but her statement reminded me that I won't die.

I have a hard time sleeping at night too. Now that my nerves are trying to reconnect I am really uncomfortable at night and super achy. My upper jaw doesn't seem to be happy at night but I'm fine most of the day. I am totally off and have been not able to sleep at night at all and end up sleeping during the day for a couple hours. I am not in pain but I can feel my face is super sore and I'm just not able to get comfortable. Plus I am all congested again so anyway I lay I have a hard time breathing, like I have a bad cold even though I am not sick. I run the humidifier and take a decongestant and that helps me breath a little. Actually last night was the worst with not being able to sleep and I didn't go to sleep until 6am. :( Hope this changes soon.

I had a 2 piece LeFort 1 that widened my upper jaw 3-4mm, my upper jaw was shortened by 6mm to reduce my gummy smile, pushed back 3mm and tilted up in the back. My lower jaw was pushed back 3mm. Surgery was December 1, 2011

I always had an aching jaw and couldn't breathe properly during the first week. After 7 days I had enough and thought "balls to it" and started sleeping normally on my side. The first night of doing that I slept right through the night, didn't wake up once and felt fine the next morning. No aching jaw or anything. Didn't affect swelling either.
