    Hi,

So I am four months away from having my surgery. I am having my upper and lower jaw done and my chin moved back into the centre of my face. My upper jaw moved back and my lower moved forward. I keep reading everywhere about your nose changing. I have quite a long skinny pointy nose and because my chin is quite far back it looks quite pointy but my surgeon said it will help make it more in proportion but if I didn't like the result I could get a nose job.

HELP I dont want to get a nose job after all this,my nose is fine and its prob the one feature I like on my face. Can anyone tell me WHAT HAPPENS to your nose after surgery? Does it change? How does it change? Why does it change? ANYTHING would be good!

    Thanks!

Most people, including mine, just have their nose widen and point more up after surgery, but it's only temporary and is caused by the swelling, so it's not your actual nose changing, just being moved around.

Mine returned to normal as the swelling went down, though there could be some slight changes depending on how far your jaws are moved.

My left face was so swollen that my nose went towards my right side and the tip of my nose just went upwards for the first few days. I though I would need a nose job after this jaw surgery, but as soon as the swell went down my nose went back to its position. That was freaking scary.

Yeah, my nose I believe changed a little. But for the better in my opinion. I have a really small nose, so it really isn't a concern of mine. I heard whenever they do upper jaw surgery it might change the nose a little bit.

During my upper jaw surgery, they cut my upper jaw into 3 pieces, and moved the center piece inwards. It did widen my nose A LITTLE BIT! Not sure how much of this can still be swelling, but I love it.

It won't change it drastically or anything, so I wouldn't worry about it
