When the Surgen is talking to you about your surgery. They will say things that you make you feel many different things. I have split these feeling in to two different catigories.

    1) Things that CRACK YOU UP
    2) Things that SCARE YOU

I have an exaple for each.

    Example 1: SCARES YOU
I would have to say their vocabulary scares me silly. When discribing what was going to happen during the suregey my doctor used some "lovely" words. Like "peel". When you think peel, you think of potatoes and cucumbers. So when he said "we are going to PEEL back your gums". To say the least, I was worried. I felt like he was saying, "to me, you are a vegetable".

Not to scare anyone that is about to have this done. It's really not all that bad. I just feel like I should warn you that the doctors do not always have the kindest vocabulary. So if they say something that you don't understand. Ask what it means. Don't be afraid to ask questions. This is your body, you do have the right to wonder what they are going to do to it.

    Example 2: CRACKS YOU UP
"You shouldn't loose any weight afterwards." (roflmbo)
I think what they mean to say is "we dont want you to loose any weight". More likely than not you WILL loose some pounds.

So before surgery, shove your face. Don't be dum. But depending on how long your recovery is I suggest you eat what you want while you still can.
My recovery time is 8 weeks. I still have 7 weeks to go.

So do you have any fun stuff to add? Please share. I would love to hear your stories.

I have something to add to this. I had to get a pre-op from my primary doctor and as I was done with the physical and I was leaving he said to me, "Good luck with your upcoming jaw surgery, you'll need it."

GREAT, JUST WANT I WANTED TO HEAR. HOW NICE OF HIM :)

My surgeon has said some crazy things to me. The two that come to mind are, "Getting your wisdom teeth out is worse than jaw surgery." and "You will only need 2 weeks to recover."

HAHAHAHAHA :) I don't think so. But we will see. In less than 2 weeks.

You guys should see the guided jaw surgery on youtube AFTER SURGERY[b] if you got the guts to see the whole video =X I dare not see it cause I will just puke or faint off seeing my blood drained off. Lets hope my blood test will just be a drip of blood and not the whole tube of blood. And my 1 unit of blood storage will not be like 1 full packet of blood. I went hay wired when my first aid course teacher showed the class thsoe gross injuries pictures.

Well since wisdom tooth removal are more pain in the mouth than jaw surgery I should be able to pull through it(my double jaw surgery pushing my upper pallete forward by 2-3mm and my underbite growing 5mm towards right backward by 6mm-7mm and straighten plus chin surgery too cause they don't want my face to look like a girls face which is in 2 weeks (1 weeks plus to be exact now) time =P).

I had 4 internal wisdom tooth removed 1 on each corner of my mouth last year june 2009. And my face just bloated to such extent I got to take pain killers and game all the way till I'm tired. I went on soft and liquid diet for weeks I tried chewing a prata end up all those swell on the 4 corners of my mouth just prevented my teeth from touching them and I end up drinking the gravy instead lol.... Waste my money and food supply =P

One weird stuff I did was to cycle from town over town area with my friends just 5 days post op. Everyone was shocked seeing my puffed cheeks and yet being able to cycle with them xD
