Post surgery return of swelling after 2 months

    Hi all,

    After being quite happy with my surgery results, the left side of my face recently started swelling up again. It has already been almost two months since the surgery and I always had some asymmetry and swelling left on the left side of my face, nonetheless this recent increase in swelling seems weird to me. It occurred only in a small area of the lower face half of my face and almost feels hard when pressing on it. I am quite worried if this could be an infection or the result of a mistake during the surgery.

    Hi Oliver,

    I recently discovered the same thing, and it was an infection. You can read about my experience in the "Dr. Dale Bloomquist in Seattle" post.

    If the "mass" hurts I would definitely recommend seeing your surgeon again. For me the mass was what he assumed to be puss. Gross I know, but true. And it hurt pretty severely when applied a small amount of pressure to the area. It also present a good deal of swelling, and made it hard for me to open.
