Hello! I have a little question. Weelllz I have had my wires in from my jaw surgery with moving my bottom jaw forward for about a week and a couple of days. My orthodontist prefers that I should tell my doctor to cut the wires and give me rubber bands because It looks really good. But what kind of rubber bands are they? When I get them do I get to open my mouth and eat soft foods? OR is my jaw gonna be shut again? I really dont want my mouth shut again but I was just curious what type of rubber bands are they going to give me. Thank you.

Hey if yours are the same as mine, I couldn't open my mouth for 5 weeks with bands, but he changed them to different bands and I can open my mouth ( a fingers width) but its hard bloody work/effort haha, and I'm still not allowed to chew and I'm nearly 6 weeks post opp. But off course everbodys different and differnt orthos do things differently!
