I am thankfully getting my splint taken out 10 days post op but the pain it is causing right now is incredible. The interior edge is so thin that it is sharp and leaving small cuts all over my tongue that are starting to bleed. I keep trying to pull my tongue in so it doesn't touch the splint but everytime I swallow it grazes the edge and makes a slice like a paper cut. I have been drinking ice water to try to minimize the pain but it hasn't done much. Does anyone have any suggestions to lessen the cuts and/ or pain. Has anyone else had a splint with a sharp edge?
