it's been almost 3 weeks since my surgery, and my lip and cheek are still completely numb. Is this normal? I can't even feel my lip when I pinch it. It's really weird.

Hi Orchdork - I'm two weeks post op tomorrow and my lower lip and chin are completely numb as well. My doctor told me it could take 6 months or more to regain the feeling. I think it's still early on to tell. In fact, my nose is still numb as well. The nerves are finding there way back to one another. It will happen.

I'm still in the numb club too! I can feel the right hand side of my bottom lip but apart from that I can't really feel my lips. My surgeon seems pretty confident that the feeling is going to come back but told me it will take time. Try not to lose heart. I'm really hoping I can smile soon but I can't feel my cheeks or nose so I just look like I've got wind at the moment!

I'm 3 months post op and I'm still completely numb on the left side of my chin and in some spots in my mouth (teeth and gums especially!). It's normal.

I'm hoping the feeling comes back. I've been having shooting pains through my chin, so I hope that's a good sign!

It can take up to a year or even more for feeling to come back.
