sudden swelling and bleeding

    I woke up at 3am to use the bathroom and when I looked in the mirror my lower lip alone had doubled in size. Also my chin and jaw bra were coated in blood. The bleeding seems to have stopped but I feel really light headed. I am putting ice on my lower lip and at least the swelling isn't getting worse. Has anyone ever had this happen or have any advice? I am 5 days post op.

    I would call the surgeon first thing. You really don't want to leave it just in case something is wrong. my surgeon told me to call if swelling was increasing after 3days and it's always better to be safe then sorry if your worried about bleeding.

    Agree with Sarah best to get it checked out and ASAP x

    Bsso for overbite on 21st December. Lower advanced 8mm upper impacted by 3mm and moved forward 2mm.

    I called the nurse advice line for kaiser and they told me to ice it and call my surgeon's office at 8:30am when they open. Also to go the emergency room if I start bleeding again.
