Hi everyone, just found this forum recently. I'm getting upper jaw surgery and chin shortening on Monday a.m. I'm very nervous. I'll be in the hospital for one night.
Glad I read all your comments/advice but now feeling a little unprepared too.
Question: I plan to be away from work for 2 weeks, is that reasonable?
I'll try and keep you posted on my experience.

Hi April,
Although the swelling probably won't be completely gone in two weeks, you should feel mentally well enough to get back to work, as long as you're not doing much physical work there.
Good luck with surgery, and let us know how it goes...

Hi April. How are you? I was thinking about you and your surgery on Monday. I hope it went well for you. I'm sure the first week is going to be hard, but hang in there and it will get better. Please post and tell us how things went.
