Thats good! Unfortunately on the way to work this afternoon i got a phonecall saying my op was cancelled! God id just prepared myself and had piles of yoghurts etc. in the fridge which will not last! Well gutted really, they said they'd contact me about a new date ah well fingers crossed its not too long!

Memberoh no! Sorry to hear that. I hope you can get a new date soon. In terms of the medical certificate, m surgeon gave me one for six weeks as that is how long she told me I would need off work. Has your surgeon given you any indication of how long you should have off? If so, ask him/her to write a 'not fit for work' note for the duration of how long he thinks you should be off and you boss can't argue with it

MemberI know me too just the anticipation of it and the waiting is making me constantly on edge lol. Yeah my surgeon said 4 weeks and i told him would i really need 4 weeks as its quite a new job ive recently got in and i told him i work with children and he said 2-4weeks as it involves talking and shouting and stuff. I think il ask him to do that so my boss can't say anything! Thanks its a good idea

MemberIt doesn't matter how long you've been in the job, they can't do anything...or even complain if you're signed off sick!
Try not to think about your surgery too much (easier said than done I know). It'll all be worth it in the end I'm surePosted 4 months ago #
