swelling from 5 months and change post op

    im 5 months post op and about a week and was just wondering when does all of the swelling go down like i still feel like i have baby cheek like a little kid or a toddler would have here are my pics. sept 23rd is 6month so i am hoping by then i will feel completely normal because while people dont notice my cheeks as big i do. /Users/christopher/Desktop/Photo on 2010-09-08 at 01.29.jpg

    I remember the exact same thing of noticing my own swelling way more than other people, but that's only natural, because we see ourselves in the mirror so often.

    I'm a little over 6 months out...6mo as of 9/3...and I still feel/see a bit of swelling in my cheeks also. It's hard to tell though because there's still a bit of numbness there too...not so much on the surface, but deeper numbness, if that makes any kind of sense! I had a visit with my surgeon last week, and all he said was "hmm, takes awhile" when I asked about this (he never was the greatest with words...but all the doctors/anesthesiologists I work with will tell you he's the best in the city!)

    Hoping I'm back to normal soon...

    I had upper jaw surgery 2/3/10...well on my way to recovery, a great smile and finally being able to chew normally!

    I had my surgery on July 19 so its been about 10 full weeks, I just don't see much if any change. Can you tell me if your face ever went back to normal-did the swelling reside completely or are you still puffy in the face? I'd like to be comfortable again when looking in the mirror. Let me know something if you can, you'd be a hero right about now.
