I had tubes in my Nose they were pretty long, say 4-5cm, and they took them out after the first couple of hours in the ICU, they used them to suck blood and stuff out too.... kinda gross, and then i had one of those oxygen feeder thingys they place under/in your nose and the tubes go around your ears and the little tubes stick in like 1cm. but that was for the first day only again in the ICU

    Hey,

I was told about tubes but didn't actually have any, or at least, if I did have any they were taken out before I woke up for the anasthesia.

I only had surgery on lower jaw2 correct my underbtie, but the surgeon put tubes coming out of either side of my jaw to drain blood and pus. The dr said it helps reduce swelling, and honestly I really didn't get very swollen at all. The tubes stayed in until I left the hospital. I was only in the hospital for 1 day and a half. I am at my 3 week mark... 3 weeks to go. In the mornings swelling is worse so I am going to try to find liquid ib profen.... hope everyone has a nice christmas! I'm drinking my egg nog. I tried to have prime rib through my syrange, but it didn't work so well....

I had breathing tubes through my nose during surgery. I guess there was a complication when they were removing them as it gave me a bloody nose. After quite a while, the doctor finally just packed my nose. I have to say that was the most uncomfortable part of my surgery. He took the packing out the day after the surgery, but I wasn't able to breathe through my nose for 5 days.
