Upper and Lower Jaw Surgery Questions! Help!

Hi I recently had upper and lower jaw surgery in the Uk I'm around 5 weeks next week I will hit the 6 weeks mark
My chin wasnt pertruding in anyway but I felt it difficult to shut my mouth comfortably and only my back teeth met together now my teeth meet at the front but my back teeth has a slight gap but my surgeon said that will be fixed with orthadonticts
I was worried as people who have had I felt like my apperance hadnt changed as much as I had expected but then I realised it was more about my bite than how I looked as I hadnt had a severe underbite just a huge gap been the upper and lower jaw which i could fit my whole thumb between.
Questions!
1) has anyone had gum issues where its felt painfull when brushing or sensitivity when drinking slightly cold drinks if so how can i fix this??
2) ive been experiencing popping sounds when i swallow or yawn like when you go on an a plane is the normal?
