    Hi again folks!
Im on my 6th week post up from lower jaw and geno-p, and healing quit well. I'd lost feeling in part of my lower lip and chin, but two days ago I i woke up in the middle of the night with an anormous pain in the lip, and the day after i discovered that the feeling was slightly back. Funny how sudden. Anyhow, as I'v mentioned before, I'm not sure if I'm 100% happy about the outcom of the surgery: My face seem a bit long, and for some reason I still have a week chin when I'm relaxed. Its like the chin is falling back and down as my mouths opening when relaxing. When i consentrate I see that the profile is much better, but i still feel that i need to walk around and make sure to always be "alert" and don't walk around with an open mouth. My lips still don't close, and i think thats becouse i also should had an upper jaw surgery. Its a long area from my nose to my upper lip, and i have bit of a gummy smile. My medical condition are now ok, so the surgery would have been just for esthetic reasons, but my questions are:

    1) when my swelling is gone and braces of, and i still wouldn't like my new appearance, is it then possible to do an upper jaw surgery? Im thinking not the surgery where they move the jaw, just cut it and make it shorter, so the "long face" and gummy smile disappear? If so, now that my bite is perfect, would there be necesarry to have braces again due to this surgery?

    2) I pre-op i had dimples under my mouth. Now, i only have one left (on the side that the feeling was good). I did not like them before, but now i miss them, as I can see that they made my face sweeter. As my feeling are coming back, do you think its possible that the other dimple will return? my smile is not balanced now, with just one dimple. Any one had dimples under they mouth that they lost during surgery? (I know they are rare).

(And please again, excuse my poor english. I promise to take another course in the university as we speak!) :)

from the profile look, you shouldnt need additional surgery but i can't really tell since there are no frontal pics (im not a doctor so my opinion is not very worthy).

What i CAN tell you is dad IF you go for the lefort surgery for long face/ gummy smile you WON'T need braces. you will have them on during surgery, but just as a security measure.

You will have them on for abot 10/15 days IF your bite is perfect.
