I'm really curious to see how all of these situations resolved! I'm at 4 weeks right now and have the same situation as Lipman. Did the swollen upper lip area eventually go down? How long did it take? I'd love to know the outcome of this.

I hope you have all seen an improvement recently. I have a few more questions about your procedures if anyone wouldn't mind. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Week 9 now, still upper lip swelling, everything else totally normal (aside from some numbness and jaw mobility/strength)

in days I just hit week 10, my upper lip still looks puffy as does both sides of my nose, I had very shaped lips prior to surgery, now they look less prominent. I do think it has gotten a little better, I keep reading on here that 6 months is when your face will no longer change except for some small swelling, and a full year to be completley done healing. My face is still tender if I press on the upper jaw through my lip as well as some spots on my lower jaw. Does anyone know where I can view a surgical video so I can actually know what they did to me when I was asleep???? I think it would give me some patience to my healing since I am sure it is gruesome. Plutocracy2060, let me know how you are doing, Im still freaking out about the fat face(puffy) I look at in the mirror. Thanks for all your help.

Hi all, I am also suffering from upper lip puffiness/prominence. I can't tell if the surgeon didn't advance the jaws as much as he should have for my overbite (my chin still looks a bit weak in my new profile shots) or if it is merely the swelling in my upper lip and cheeks that is making everything look disproportionate and still overbite-ish. My teeth come together well and there is definitely no overbite in my mouth...If I am left with a weak chin, I guess there are ways of fixing that if I really want to--it's just a disappointing prospect after having gone through all this. I am 4.5 weeks post-op...still early I guess? Also, I am 35, so I know my healing time will be longer than others.
I posted some before and after pics in the before/after topic. the other thing is that sometimes my profile looks almost perfect to me, but then I will check it out later in the day and it will almost look like I never had the surgery. Usually the worst time of day is in the morning, as others have said.
