I was wondering for those who had upper plate removed how did the oral surgeon do it as my OS did it thru my lip yesterday. I'm still numb in certain spots and sometimes my under eye puffs up as when I woke up it felt like I was having a sticky eye.

I didn't have nausea right away did get it at the beginning of today feel like I want to throw up and having bubbling feeling in tummy with lots of burping.

I had alot of anxiety before the procedure yesterday which at nighttime I was having anxiety issues trying to get to sleep and today I have jumping feeling scared anxiety along with irritated anxiety.

How long does it take for plate removal to feel better ? As I really don't have really much pain just uncomfiness

sorry if i cannot help you since i did not have the surgery, but what do you intend for upper plates? the plates on your jaw? did you have maxillary impaction or advancement?

why did you want to take them off in the first place?

sorry if i only gave you questions instead of answers

In 92 I had my first jaw surgery to fix an overly pronounced jaw which they put plates in the upper jaw and bottom jaw. My bottom jaw was sticking way out there. 7 years ago my screw started to emerge thru the gum it wasn't bugging me at all so I left it alone and at the beginning of January my screw that was emerging came out while I was eating leaving a big swollen gum along with an hole in my gum which wasn't bugging me but I didn't want to wait til infection to happen in there since it was open plus I was not wanting any other screws to fall out what if next time I swallowed a sharp screw.

Thanks I didn't think any screw would fall out either and I hope I have no more screw emerging because I don't want to go thru this again but I did have a wire come out in the bottom of my jaw that was much simpler I thought this surgery would have been cut along the gum and unscrew the screws instead they went thru my lip

It proably won't happen to you as my gums are thin due to cleft palate and I have dentures which the oral surgeon says dentures rubbing too much on gums making it get exposed.

Teeth extraction was much better than this.

Im having the same problems with my stomach - i feel sick and i am burping all the time. I have a feeling it is to do with the meds i was given in hospital, my body doesnt agree with them. IM hoping it will eventually pass out of my system.
