    Hi

I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow, I had upper jaw moved 6mm, lower jaw 10mm, chin 5mm and wisdom teeth removed two questions I have:

1 When doesnt the drooling stop ? I have had enough of it.. Is it to early to start worrying ?

2 While my lips have gone down a great amount since day 1 they still have a open look with some swelling still there? When Do your lips go back to normal size ?

    Thanks for your help

My huge swollen lips only get to shrink down after week 2. My drolling stops when my lips gets proportion to my face again. Don't worry much its normal to be drolling, even tissue papers and towels are not enough to stop my drolling think a bucket will help. Its kind of irritating but just got to bear with it.

    Oh yes the drooling.... LOL

I remember those days! Mine went away like PW was saying, when my lips were able to close again. That took awhile. My lips had that open look as well, and I moved from tissues up to papertowels because they lasted longer. The drooling is what prevented me from going out in public the most. I constantly had to hold a papertowel there. It was the most annoying at night trying to sleep.

I would say the drooling stopped mostly around 3 weeks, I had to go back to work after a month, and that was my biggest concern. The surgeon originally told me I could go back to work after 2 weeks, but with the drooling, there is no way that would have been possible.

    :)
