    Hello,
my daughter had her upper and lower jaw moved 8 weeks ago and from all appearances the operation was a great success, and her appearance has improved drastically. One niggling problem is that when she closes her mouth she still has wrinkles/bumps on her chin as before the operation. She is still having physiotherapy and wearing braces. Does anyone have any experience with this phenomena? I'm wondering if it is something that will clear up with time or if she may need another operation? I'm going to discuss it with her doctor next week but I wanted to get some feed-back from the pros here first. Thanks very much. (photo below).

just a suggestion and maybe a bad one: if the wrinkles on the chin are caused my muscles, maybe they can be frozen with botox. of course, that only works if these muscles aren't used for anything else. in my surgery, the doctor cut out some muscle from the chin so it doesn't seem to be necessary to use those muscles ;)

I dont see anything wrong with her chin at all--i honestly dont even see what you are talking about. But obviously--whatever it is that your talking about--its bothering you. She still has some swelling than needs to go down which might help. But getting surgery to correct these invisible "wrinkles and bumps" would be a terrible decision.

I'm the same as Brandon I'm afraid and can't actually see any wrinkles or bumps on the chin. Maybe it's just not showing up on the photo but let's not forget we're not actually meant to be completely perfect! It's still early days after major surgery and I'm sure that her confidence will improve no end given her new fantastic bite!

It's been 8 weeks since my surgery and I also still get that when I close my mouth. It has gotten significantly better the past few weeks, and I think it'll continue to do so! It feels like my muscles are still weak there and it takes some force to keep my mouth closed. I'm confident that once I'm completely healed and get all the stretch and muscle working in my face again, this will go away!
